The Unsung Heros.
The COVID-19 pandemic changed everything. Every shift, we lived in fear—fear of the unknown, fear of bringing the virus home to our families, fear of becoming patients ourselves. Before even stepping into work, we questioned: Did I catch it yesterday? Will today be the day?
Yet, despite the uncertainty and terror, we showed up. Because in EMS, like other first responders and healthcare workers, we put others before ourselves. We cared for the sick, comforted the scared, and pushed forward when the world stood still. It was exhausting. It was terrifying. But it was our duty. And we did it—because that’s what EMS does.
